CARIBOU, Maine – On Thursday, May 1 Aroostook County Tourism will host the 2025 Aroostook County Tourism Summit at the Best Western Caribou Inn & Convention Center, located at 19 Main St. in Caribou. The summit, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is an open invitation for all to share, discuss and learn what is being done to promote Maine’s Aroostook County for leisure travel.
The latest visitation data will be shared and discussed by Carolann Ouellette, director of the Maine Office of Tourism, while the Director of the Maine Office of Recreation Jeff McCabe will share what the office is doing to promote recreation to all of Maine. All state of Maine Associations have been invited to attend the summit to meet and support Aroostook County businesses and communities to increase tourism to Maine. Aroostook County Tourism has generated 8.9 million impressions and reached 4.8 million individuals across all platforms and media types in the last 12 months. More than 65 individuals have registered for the event to date and we hope all trail masters, museum coordinators, and front-end workers come out to spend the day to share their expertise and ideas.
Registration is free, and lunch is provided. Discounted lodging is available to those who are traveling to the region for the event, and a casual meet and greet has been organized to start the networking the evening before the summit. Buck’s Bar will host the cash bar and networking at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30.
Visitation to Aroostook County has increased every year since 2021, but new changes in visitor sentiment pose a challenge for the 2025-26 tourism year as Canadian visitation is expected to decrease and domestic tourists are showing a smaller budget for travel.
Registration is requested, but not required. Please RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2025-aroostook county-tourism-summit-tickets-1255907586399?aff=oddtdtcreator.
