The Aroostook Chapter of Maine Credit Unions is proud to announce Emma Bragg of Fort Fairfield High School as the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship is offered to local high school students who attended the Chapter’s Financial Fitness Fair, a joint initiative organized by four participating credit unions in the chapter, including Acadia Federal Credit Union, NorState Federal Credit Union, The County Federal Credit Union and University Credit Union.
The Financial Fitness Fair provides an engaging opportunity for students to build essential financial literacy skills through a hands-on budget simulation. During the event, students are presented with real-life scenarios that challenge them to create and manage a budget, providing them with practical experience that will benefit them throughout their lives.
As part of the event, students were invited to apply for the $1,000 scholarship, which is intended to support their higher education or vocational training pursuits. The Financial Fitness Fair and this scholarship are just a few of the ways the credit unions of the Aroostook Chapter of Maine Credit Unions aim to support local youth and promote financial education in our communities.
