Anderson receives Van Buren’s MPA Principal’s Award

VAN BUREN, Maine — Savannah Anderson, a senior at Van Buren District Secondary School, has been named a recipient of the Maine Principals’ Association Principal’s Award, a recognition of her exceptional academic achievements, leadership and dedication to her school and community.

Throughout her high school career, Anderson has built an impressive résumé of accomplishments. As vice president of her class, she has played an active role in the curriculum and policy committees, ensuring student voices are heard in educational decision-making. She is also a dedicated member of Future Business Leaders of America and the yearbook committee, all while pursuing her Certified Nursing Assistant certification and maintaining honor roll status.

Beyond academics, Anderson has taken part in several pageants, holding the title of Miss Van Buren and participating in Poetry Out Loud. She also assists with school transportation, lending a hand on the bus. Her commitment to education is evident with her acceptance into the National Society of High School Scholars — a prestigious organization based in Clemson, South Carolina where she will be attending an event in early April. 

With her passion for healthcare, Anderson is set to continue her education at the University of Maine at Fort Kent where she will pursue a degree in nursing. She credits her mother Roxie Anderson as a major source of inspiration and support. 

Anderson’s dedication, leadership and hard work have made her a standout student, and her future looks incredibly bright. The Van Buren community celebrates her achievements and eagerly anticipates her continued success.
