PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook Agency of Aging will exhibit the work of Washburn artist Lin Trombley throughout January as part of the Artists for Aging initiative. Her works will be featured during an opening reception from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3 during Presque Isle’s monthly First Friday Art Walk.
Working from her home-based studio, Trombley lives with her husband, their three kids and pets. “Over the past 20 years, I have explored many layers of myself and what my artistic practice means to me. The growth I have witnessed within my art has only propelled me forward over the years and is ever evolving,” she said.
Trombley specializes in eco-conscious handwoven textiles. “I have such a passion for curating home goods collections and adore exploring a mixed media practice with my heavily textured paintings,” she added.
She describes her artistic practice as very soulfully intuitive, experimental and as Zero-Waste of an environment as she can possibly make it. The artist is also very intentional with the energy she pours into her work, hoping that it resonates in a positive way for viewers and clients alike.
Trombley encourages people to reach out to her through her Lin Trombley Studio website or Facebook for commission or wholesale-based work or any possible questions.
The January 3 Artists for Aging event is free and open to the public. Artists like Trombley who showcase creative works at the Agency on Aging agree to donate 20 percent of their sales to support its programs and services.
