MADAWASKA, Maine – The town of Madawaska announced Thursday that it will move to a four-day work week for non-essential employees, effective Monday Dec. 30.

The change comes after the board of selectpersons voted to do so unanimously at a Dec. 17 meeting. The town office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. The office will be closed from Friday through Sunday.

The town office will also be closed on legal holidays, and will continue to close early on the last working day of each month to complete monthly reporting.

Specific hours for each department are available on the town website at townofmadawaska.com.
