FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine – A Presque Isle man was indicted Thursday for allegedly trafficking drugs to two Fort Fairfield residents who later died after overdosing.
In March, Troy Theriault, 52, and Krissy Taggett, 41, were found unresponsive in a Fort Fairfield home, after which local police were called. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that both had overdosed on fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to Fort Fairfield Police Chief Matthew Cummings.
The Aroostook County Grand Jury indicted Presque Isle resident Landon Larsen, 44, on two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs resulting in death, a Class A charge; a Class B and C count of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and one count of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, Class C.
Larsen is currently incarcerated on charges unrelated to Theriault and Taggett’s deaths and will be arraigned in Aroostook County Unified Criminal Court at a later date, Cummings said.
