To the editor:
I have an answer to the question on how to proceed with the Main Street renovation.
Barrier barrels from the Maine State Department of Transportation, arranged on Main Street to approximate the new lane configuration, will give the city and its residents a chance to see if the computer-generated “proof of concept” will actually work.
No asphalt need be torn up, nor spade of earth turned over, or construction money spent until we see if the project is viable.
