HBMI recognizes staff for longevity

LITTLETON, Maine – The Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians recently recognized 13 employees for their many years of service to the tribe.

Featuring employees from the Maliseet Health and Wellness Center, maintenance division, education, tribal administration, Natural Resources and Indian Child Welfare Act, the group has a combined 215 years of service to the tribal community.

“I am pleased to recognize these amazing milestones, along with their dedication and hard work for our tribal citizens,” Tribal Chief Clarissa Sabattis said.

Recognized for 40 years of service was Health Center Administrative Secretary/Purchased and Referred Care Assistant Jody Clark. Receiving an award for 30 years of service were Health Center Director Michelle Barrows and Environmental Planner with Natural Resources Sharri Venno.

Celebrated for 25 years of service was Tribal Administrator Brian Reynolds, while Maintenance Supervisor John Flewelling was recognized for 20 years of service.

Receiving awards for 15 years of service were Interim Housing Director/Grant Writer Rosa McNally and Education Director Amber Wire.

Recognized for 10 years of service were ICWA Director Lori Jewell and Maintenance worker Rodney Polchies. Receiving awards for five years of service were Terri Bouchard, health information management referral specialist; George and Heidi Hurteau of Wilderness Pines Campground; and Tiffany Smith, tribal court administrator/clerk.
