Winslow serving on campus for VISTA

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine Presque Isle resident Victoria Winslow is serving at the University of Maine at Presque Isle as part of the Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) program.

Winslow begin her one-year service in August and joined a team of 10 Maine Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA personnel.
She serves with the Early College Program to expand college access programs to low-income populations and will be working with UMPI’s faculty to support engaged learning partnerships with community organizations. She hopes through her passion, dedication and hard work to help lift individuals and communities out of poverty.
AmeriCorps VISTA programming builds the organizational, administrative and financial capacity of nonprofit organizations to fight poverty. Maine Campus Compact’s VISTA program is focused on increasing college access and success for K-12 students as a long-term method for decreasing poverty rates.
