    ALLEN, John “Jack” H., 79, PRESQUE ISLE, at Mars Hill, July 21, 2015. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – John “Jack” H. Allen, 79, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2015, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill after a brief illness. He was born on May 8, 1936, in Presque Isle, the son of Clayton R. Allen and Katherine (Parker) Rediker.American-Flag-Color
    Jack proudly served in the United States Marine Corps until his honorable discharge in 1959. After the service, he worked as a milkman for over forty years. He was very hard-working and dependable. Jack accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior several years ago during a very difficult time. He was able to reconnect with some family members in his last days, which was a blessing to them and to him.
    He is survived by his sister, Brenda Gay of St. Stephen; two daughters, Lori Whittemore and her husband, Kevin of North Waterboro, and Tori Kirby of Old Orchard Beach; two sons, John Allen and his wife, Paige of Eddington, and Shane Allen and his wife, Valerie of Portland; son-in-law, Jaye Ellis of Mapleton; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Richard Allen; brother, Raymond Allen; and daughter, Kori Ellis.
    Jack’s family would like to thank Ray Miller for his friendship and support of Jack over the years.
    Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, July 31, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Lombard Street, Caribou, with Pastor Joshua Presley officiating. A reception will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 46 Access Highway, Caribou, immediately following the service. Donations in Jack’s honor may be made to Circle of Learning, a developmental preschool for Aroostook County children with special needs, founded by Jack’s late daughter, Kori Ellis.
