HOULTON — Area children will take to the stage this weekend, as they act, sing and dance in “Thwacked!  A Fractured Tale of Frogs, Folks and Falling Skies.”

A musical comedy by Dave and Jean Perry, “Thwacked!” will be presented Friday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 11, at 1 p.m., by children of Houlton Star Bright Children’s Theatre.  Performances will take place at the Performing Arts Center, Houlton Middle/Senior High School.
Tickets, sold at the door, are $5 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, $3 for children under 12, and $15 for a family of four.
“Thwacked!” is directed by Mary Miller, with assistant director Ann Barnes, accompanist Dale Holden, and technical director Pam Chernesky. The elementary school aged actors have added their own creative touches to the play; students are also participating in lighting, sound and behind the curtain.
Houlton Star Bright Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization founded in 1968, to present plays “by children, for children.”  It is run entirely by volunteers, and emphasizes introducing children to all aspects of theater production.  For more information about “Thwacked!” and HSBCT, please contact Mary Miller, 757-7200.
