A piece of Loring history

This is a photo of more than 57 years ago, showing some of the history of Loring Air Force Base, which your readers might find interesting.
In 1958, D Battery of the U.S. Army’s 548th missile battalion at Loring Air Force Base was selected to represent the battalion at Armed Forces Day in Augusta. From left are Bob Tweedie, Ward, Persault, Garza, and Lt. Suppo, commanding officer. At this time the Army had four missile batteries around Loring.
