HOULTON – Eric K. Richards Jr., 70, died December 21, 2014, at his home with his family at his side. He was born December 6, 1944, in Salisbury, NC, the son of Eric Sr. and Martha (Camp) Richards.
He was head chef of the United Methodist Church, where he prepared many church suppers. In 2012, Eric was successful at organizing the 50th class reunion for the Hodgdon High class of ‘62, the only one they ever had. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and camp.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda (Stover) Richards; two daughters, Susan Richards and Margaret Anne Richards, all of Houlton; two brothers, James Richards of Hodgdon, William Richards and his wife, Darlene of Dixfield and their two sons, Chris Richards and wife, Jeanne, of Levant and Justin Richards of Orono; a sister, Margaret Casey and her husband, Mark, of Houlton and her daughter, Sara, and her daughter, Amira, son Nathan and his wife, Lindsay, and their children, Alexandria and Dominic; a son, Jarrett of Bangor; sister-in-law, Frances Richards and her children, Michelle, her son, Patrick and his wife, Cassie, and their children, Samara and Wyatt. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Daniel, Michael, and John.
Friends may call 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27 at the United Methodist Church, Houlton, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. with Rev. Victor Han officiating.
