Easton vs. Mars Hill alumni basketball game takes place on Saturday

    Rosters have been made and T-shirts are being ordered. The Easton Alumni Association will be hosting the second annual Alumni Games on Saturday, Dec. 27, between Easton alumni and Mars Hill alumni.

Doors will open at 4:15 p.m., with a girls’ game starting at 5 p.m. and the boys’ game at 7 p.m. The admission cost will be $2 for students, $4 for adults, and children under 5 will get in free. There will be refreshments, as well as raffle tickets on sale for items such as a Dove chocolate gift basket and two handmade quilts.

Kiwanis meetings

The Kiwanis Club of Easton meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend. Dinner is provided for a small fee. Please plan to join them.

Christmas vacation activities

    The Easton Rec Department has several activities planned for Christmas vacation that are sure to keep the kids entertained. The following is a list of what’s in store:
Friday, Dec. 26 — Bowling & Pizza Hut field trip. Bowling first at Northern Lanes in Presque Isle and then lunch at Pizza Hut buffet. The fee is $12 for bowling, with buffet $15.  The trip begins at 9:45 a.m. and kids will return to Easton at 12:45 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 29 — “Mat Ball” Tournament; this is a game that was created by a PE teacher and looks like a lot of fun!  The tournament will be held at Van Buren High School.  The bus departs at 9 a.m. sharp. Open to grades 4, 5 and 6. Please pre-register so we know we have enough to participate.
Tuesday, Dec. 30 — A morning of jumping at The Jump at the Aroostook Centre Mall. The cost is $10; this includes admission, pizza, chips and a Slushie. The bus will depart at 9:40 a.m. and return at 12:15 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 30 — Rollerskating at Melody Roller Rink in Caribou. The cost is $5 for skating and rentals. Children will depart at 9:40 a.m. and return at 1:10 p.m.

Town Office closed

    The Town Office will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and will be closed all day Thursday, Dec. 25, in observation of Christmas. The office will be open for regular office hours on Friday, Dec. 26.
