Vendors made chamber event a success

SmallBusiness    I am absolutely thrilled with how the 41st annual Caribou Fall Arts & Crafts Festival went this weekend! We had a large variety of very talented vendors and they were happy that over two thousand adults were admitted to the show! Thanks to vendor donations, we gave away over forty door prizes too.

For such a big event, there are always lots of folks to thank. The Loring Job Corps were there on Friday to put down and tape the mats that covered the floor. Thank you! Peggy Smith, Laurie and Brian Colton were there all weekend to help. My wife, Jayne, helped out on Sunday and then helped me rip up tape and fold mats after the show was over. Ben Willey and a friend helped get those heavy and awkward folded mats back to our storage shed after fetching and delivering them on Friday. The high school custodians were there all weekend and were a big help. Northeast Publishing and Channel X Radio were crucial with their advertising help. The Caribou Rotary Club brought an Iron Lung on Saturday for demonstration and ran a brisk business in the kitchen. The Baked Potato Bar was a big success. Thank you, everybody!
But the biggest thank you goes to the vendors who made it such a great show and the tremendous amount of people who came to see and appreciate those vendors and, of course, took home a lot of merchandise!
That’s it for this week as I’m sitting here smiling through aching muscles reflecting on how successful and smoothly everything went this year. Don’t forget to vote next Tuesday. Your vote is important and many have fought over the years to protect that very special right we all have to express our desires and hopes through the voting process!
