HOULTON – Mildred Jean Tidd, 89, died Oct. 26, 2014, at a local hospital. She was born July 17, 1925, at Linneus, the daughter of Lester M. and Eva Marie (Seeley) Adams.
Mildred grew up in Linneus and attended local schools. She was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute. Mildred met and married Willie P. Tidd in 1958. She worked as a homemaker and later in life became a certified nurse’s aide working as a home care nurse. She was a member of the VFW and the DAV. Mildred loved bowling on many leagues and won many tournaments. She was a wonderful friend, mother, grandmother and special aunt. Her good sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
Mildred is survived by her children, Billie Mae Mitchell, Greg Adams and his wife, Judy, all of Houlton, Karen Carmichael of Littleton; three grandchildren, Katelyn Silliboy, Andrea Carmichael and DJ Carmichael; great-grand-daughter, Braelyn Silliboy; her sister, Betty Lou Stone and her husband, David of Oakland; special niece, Carol Stewart and her husband, Donald; special great-nephew, Donald Stewart, Jr., many more nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; special friend, Sandy Gray. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Willie; stepson, Paul Tidd; siblings, Madeline Clark, Preston Adams and Doris Wilson; and her son-in-law Donald Mitchell.
