Beavers and ’Cats compete in Caribou
CARIBOU, Maine — Saturday’s invitational cross country meet at Caribou High School featured a unique format that pitted all the teams’ No. 1 runners against each other in the first wave, followed by the No. 2s and all the way to the No. 7s.
The Presque Isle boys came in third place with 13 points and Washburn scored 33 for eighth place. For the girls, Washburn placed fourth with 16 and Presque Isle fifth with 19.

The host Caribou girls and boys were the meet champions. All the Aroostook County schools participated, along with Penobscot Valley Conference teams Mount Desert Island, Old Town, John Bapst and Foxcroft Academy.
Presque Isle hosts the next competition, the All-Aroostook Selection Meet, Friday afternoon at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
