Dr. Chris Bell has always carried vitamins and supplements for his chiropractic patients, but with the availability of space within the practice, Bell and his wife, Martha, decided to expand these services and offer quality products to members of the community.
County Naturals opened in the Fall of 2013 at Bell Chiropractic on the B Road in Houlton.
“We carry both pharmaceutical and nutritional grade vitamins and supplements as well as essential oils, natural care products, some small durable medical equipment, and limited food items such as teas, gourmet Haitian coffee,  flours (almond and coconut), seeds (flax and chia), coconut oil, popcorn, and granola,” explained Martha, who operates County Naturals.
“There is a common belief that all supplements are created equal, which has led some to seek the best value, not the best quality,” explained Martha. “The best way to make sure you are purchasing a high quality nutritional supplement is to buy a pharmaceutical grade form. You may make dramatically different results depending on the grade of supplement used.”
These are typically sold by licensed health care providers. The manufacturers of pharmaceutical grade supplements know their high quality products can have a profound effect on an individual’s health; therefore, they want a licensed health care practitioner monitoring the use of their product.
