Color Presque Isle 5K
The University of Maine at Presque Isle and the Wintergreen Arts Center are teaming up to present one of The County’s most unique and fun-filled 5K fundraisers — the second annual Color Presque Isle 5K, where participants dress in white and get showered with colored powder throughout the course.
The event, which serves as a benefit for arts programming, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 9 a.m. starting at Riverside Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
Last year’s incredibly successful inaugural event — the first of its kind held in Aroostook County — saw over 400 people of all ages, sizes and running abilities take to the course.
The registration fee is $40. Children under 10 are free. The fee includes a T-shirt for the first 250 registrants and a color packet to use during the color throw. Course maps will be available at check-in, which will get underway on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Wintergreen Arts Center, and on Saturday starting at 8 a.m. at Riverside Park.

Bowling meetings
Northern Lanes bowling alley is getting ready for another year of league play and organizational meetings have been scheduled as follows:
Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m., women’s Tuesday Night League; Sept. 3, 6:30 p.m., Men’s Monday and Wednesday Night leagues; Sept 4, 6:30 p.m., Men’s Thursday Night League; and Sept. 7, 5 p.m., Sunday Night Mixed Doubles.
The junior league begins Sept. 27 at 10 a.m.
Northern Lanes’ open bowling hours for Sept. 2-21 are Monday through Friday from 6-8 p.m., Saturday from noon-9 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.

Presque Isle High School soccer season tickets are now available to purchase in the SAD 1 athletics office. The cost is $35. Office hours are 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 764-6507.
