Fair’s pie contest winners announced
The annual Pie Baking Contest at the Northern Maine Fair was a great success. There were 13 participants and six competed in all five contests.
The winners in raspberry pie baking held on Tuesday, July 28, 2014, were: first place, Heidi Thompson; second place, Terry McQuade; and third place, Kristen Legasse. Placing in Wednesday’s strawberry pie baking contest were: first place, Heidi Thompson; second place, Norma Bondeson; and third place Kristine Bondeson.
Thursday’s apple pie baking winners were: first place, Heidi Thompson; second place, Sam White; and third place, Laura Tuttle. Placing in Friday’s “pie in the sky” contest were: first place, Lisa Fishman; second place, Heidi Thompson; and third place, Terry McQuade. The blueberry pie baking contest, held on Saturday, Aug. 2, saw the following winners: first place, Heidi Thompson; second place, Terry McQuade; and third place, Lisa Fishman.
Congratulations to the Grand Prize Winners: first place went to Heidi Thompson with four firsts and one second place; second place winner was Terry McQuade with two second places and one third place; and third place winner Lisa Fishman with one first place and one third place. The following persons were also contestants in the pie baking contests: Julie Berry, Piper Galipeau, Sierra Galipeau, Carol Soucy and Sarah McQuade. Organizers thank the 18 judges and the sponsors of the contests for their participation.
Winners in the Cookie Baking Contest were as follows: first place, Bobbi Guerrette; second place, Landon Soucy; and third place awarded to Piper Galipeau.
