Hawkes, James, 86, December 15, 2013. A gravesite service will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Island Falls Cemetery, with a luncheon at The Maine Slice following.
James G. Hawkes, 86, Frederick, Maryland, formerly of Island Falls, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2013. Born on July 30, 1927, in Island Falls, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Hope) Hawkes, and the youngest brother of the late Clifford Hawkes and Harry Hawkes. He was the loving husband to the late Madelyn Townsend Hawkes for 61 years.
Surviving are children Mrs. Gilly Sharpnack, Mr. James T. Hawkes, and Mrs. Robin Pumphrey. He is survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A gravesite service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the Island Falls Cemetery on Sherman Road (the new one). A luncheon will follow at The Maine Slice on 142 Walker Settlement Road in Island Falls.
