    PT Hope WebbHope Lora (Harper) Webb, 95, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2014, at The Barron Center in Portland. She was born February 8, 1919, in Houlton, the daughter of Frank L. and Rula M. (Shaw) Harper.
    Hope lived most of her life in Island Falls. She attended Merrill High School, Oakfield High School, Ricker College and the Maine State Library. She was employed by Fort Fairfield Library, Island Falls Drug Store, Emerson Insurance Agency, Island Falls Superintendent of Schools, and Secretary for Dr.’s Clyde I. Swett and Ronald Blum. Hope enjoyed music and dancing to the very end of her life. She attended the outdoor concerts at the Barron Center, singing along with the Elvis impersonator! She loved reading and volunteered at Katahdin Public Library and the Webb Fashion Museum in Island Falls. She treasured time spent with children and especially the grandchildren. After retirement, Hope sewed and hand quilted many quilts for her family. Time spent at camp was a favorite time for her, enjoying neighbors and family on “the Pond”. Her weekly Bridge games with her friends were full of fun and strategy.
    She is survived by son, Jeffrey Webb and wife, Diana of Glendale, AZ and his daughter, Heather L. Urquhart of Monmouth; daughter, Marcia L. Bouchard of Portland, her daughter, Diana R. and husband, Maurice A. Erickson of Sarasota FL; son-in-law, Andrew W. Couture and his wife, Alicia of Jefferson; and daughters, Melinda Doiron and her husband, Andrew of Chelsea, ME and Alyssa Boucher and her husband, Matthew of Barrington, NH; nephew, Andrew Harper and his wife, and children of West Chester, PA; and by many cherished great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Roland “Pokey” V. Webb; daughter, Pamela R. (Webb) Couture; son-in–law, Lindy T. Bouchard; grandson, Brian J. Webb; sister, Maxine E. Harper and brother, Dale A. Harper and his wife, Beverly.
    Graveside services were held at Island Falls Cemetery on Monday, July 28 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ben Greene officiating. A gathering of friends and loved ones followed at the Island Falls Baptist Church. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations in Hope’s name be made to Katahdin Public Library, P.O.
