It was a beautiful day for the Purple Hat ladies when they met on Tuesday, July 8 at the Blue Moose Restaurant in nearby Monticello. The count for the diners came to 23 with Wannetta Townsend doing the blessing.
Leader Charlotte Marley was present and greeted everyone. Purple Hat ladies each had a nametag, which they wore and they each introduced themselves with their Purple Hat name. Denise Clark did a story about Petey. Cindy Gray and Wannetta Townsend also did readings. Cindy Gray had charge of the birthday list.
The drawings for the month went to Dolores Locke and Jackie Colella. Topics of conversation were on the hurricane and the problems it brought with it, graduations, anniversaries and class reunions.
The August meeting place will be a summer surprise, so stay tuned. This meeting brought three guests: Rachel Sutherland, Cathi Plourde and son Daniel from New Jersey. Members attending were from Cary, Joanne Scott, Denise Clark, Jackie Colella, Marsha Reed, Bessie Wyman and Wannetta Townsend; from Dyer Brook, Marie Gillotti and Sandy Wyman; from Oakfield, Bernice Campbell, Mildred Gagnon, Elaine Barrett, Alma Clark, Evelyn Johnston, Donna Flynn, Sandra Holmes and Dolores Locke; and from Merrill, Arlene Friel. From Smyrna, Charlotte Marley and Cindy Gray.
See you in August and enjoy the summer.
