HOULTON – Maxine Cummings, 90, passed away at a local health care facility June 24, 2014. She was born October 7, 1923, in Linneus, the daughter of John and Blanche (Tarr) McGary.
Mrs. Cummings was a member of the Houlton Wesleyan Church for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother to her five children.
Mrs. Cummings is survived by two sons, David Cummings and wife, Betty, Kevin Cummings and wife, Brenda; two daughters, Carolyn McLean and husband, Gary, and Linda Keith; one brother, Carl McGary; three sisters, Madeline Irish, Fern Bubar and Margaret Slitz; 31 grandchildren, 11 great-grand-children; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester Cummings, in 1997; one daughter, Mary Ann Cummings; four brothers, Kelse, Lloyd, Horace and John McGary; and one sister, Yzonne Scott.
Graveside services were held at New Limerick Cemetery on Thursday, June 26, 2014, with Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating.
