CARY PLANTATION – John Robert Richards, 60, son of Eric & Martha Camp Richards, passed away peacefully, June 17th, 2014.
John was an avid fisherman and hunter as well as a respected Registered Maine Guide. John loved family gatherings and then playing cards and board games with his nieces and nephews, which typically went late into the evenings. He was loved by all who knew him and was a mentor to many.
John is survived by his brothers, Eric, Jr. (Ricky) & Brenda, daughters, Sue and Margaret Anne; James; William (Bill) & Darlene, and sons, Christopher and wife, Jeanne, Justin; one sister, Margaret & Mark Casey, and sons, Nathan and wife, Lindsay, Dominic, and Alexandrea, Jarrett, daughter, Sara Casey and Amira; sister-in-law, Frances, daughter, Michelle, and son, Patrick and wife, Cassie, Samara and Wyatt. John was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Martha and two brothers, Michael and Daniel Richards.
Friends and family called at St. Mary of the Visitation on Saturday, June 21, from 10 – 11 a.m. which was followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. The family had a reception immediately following the burial at St. Anthony’s Hall. Those who wish may make donations to the campaign to save Maine’s Bear hunt.
