Officials with the American Legion Auxiliary of Stockholm sponsored a Ms. Auxiliary Pageant on June 8. There were five contestants, pictured from left,
Karla Fisher, Rita Olson, Kathy Robinson, Joyce Akerson and Sandra Hara. Amber Moutinho was the chairman of the event and she choreographed the opening number “Dancing Queen,” during which the contestants then portrayed a character of their choosing. During the talent portion of the pageant, two contestants sang, one lip synced, one performed a comedy act and another, a recitation. The final portion was an evening gown walk, escorted by Commander Herman Fisher. Robinson said that the pageant is hoped to become an annual event, with more participation in years to come.
