CARIBOU — Marla Raymond, CEO of Healing Hearts, announced they have recently expanded, opening a new office in Madawaska and expanding the Caribou office staff by five, including Healing Heart’s new COO Sherry Pelletier.
Raymond explained that the impetus for opening the new Madawaska office was to meet the needs of the greater Madawaska area.
She also explained that Pelletier was selected to oversee the new office due to her strong leadership skills, and a high proficiency in organization and time management; Pelletier is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a certified alcohol and drug counselor as a therapist. Pelletier will be overseeing the Madawaska offices as well as seeing clients in both offices.
“The agency is in the process of being credited to provide substance abuse therapy due to Sherry’s ability to do co-occurring treatment,” Raymond said, adding that Pelletier is also DEEP (Drivers Evaluation Education Program) certified.
New staff members in the Caribou office are Mary White LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), Georgette Beaulieu LCSW, Sherry Pelletier LSCW and Elaine Haines as Community Integration Specialist/community counselor. Terry White has accepted the position of office manager for the Caribou facility two days a week.
The agency also plans to hire one new therapist for the Madawaska office and another CIS for the Caribou office in the future.
Raymond expressed that she is very pleased with the new hires; her philosophy of Healing Hearts is the team approach, and feels the additional staff fit right in with that philosophy.
“It has been very exciting in the past year for Healing Hearts and also finding the need to open a new office site in Madawaska,” Raymond said.
