PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The SAD 1 athletic department will be offering basketball and soccer camps once again this summer.
The Wildcat Basketball Camp will be held June 16-20 at Presque Isle High School and is for students currently in grades 2-7.
Varsity coaches Terry Cummings and Jeff Hudson will serve as co-directors. Their staff will include other coaches and current and former Wildcat players.
Those in grades 2-4 will play from 5-7 p.m. each day, with grades 5-7 going from 7-9 p.m.
The cost is $50 per student, with discounts given to families with two or more players.
The Wildcat Soccer Camp is slated for July 21-25 at the turf field at Presque Isle Middle School. Students currently in grades 1-8 are eligible to participate.
Members of the SAD 1 soccer coaching staff and current and former players will make up the staff.
Those currently in grades 1-5 will play in the first session, offered from 3-5 p.m., while grades 5-8 will play from 5-7 p.m.
Fifth-graders may choose either session, but it is recommended they choose the one that best suits their ability.
The cost for the soccer camp is $45 per student, with discounts offered to families with two or more players. Every player who registers will receive a Wildcat soccer T-shirt.
For both the basketball and soccer camps, fundamentals will be stressed. There will be drills, individual competitions and team games.
However, the emphasis will be on sportsmanship and having fun while learning the game.
