RYAN ASHBY has opened Ashes2Ashes Recording Studio in Presque Isle. To make an appointment or for more information about what recording options are available, look for the business on Facebook or call 554-8882.

Owner Ryan Ashby, a musician himself, brings years of experience to the business.
“I’ve been a musician 13 years — have played guitar with various bands. I kicked off this business about a month ago, hoping to help others delve into the world of music,” said Ashby.
“I’ve been working in this field for a while. Being a musician year-round, I live in a ‘sound’ environment and have progressed from there. It’s a hands-on business,” he said.
Ashby said whether someone’s looking to record a single song, make a complete CD or just wants to add some tracks to something, Ashes2Ashes can meet these musical needs and more.
“I do tracking, editing, demos, arrangements, songwriting. Ashes2Ashes is where an artist can create their music their way,” Ashby said.
Using state-of-the-art equipment and the latest computer programs, Ashby is able to create high-quality recordings suitable for any application.
“My goal for this is to offer local musicians a place to record, without having to travel,” said Ashby.
He said there are bigger studios Bangor-south, but there were only limited options north of central Maine.
“I offer pro-quality sound at a local location, with pricing that keeps local musicians in mind,” he said.
For a limited time, Ashby is offering an introductory rate.
“It’s $15 an hour for most projects,” Ashby said. “I’m also currently doing a nine-for-$99 deal. That’s nine songs, with limited takes, for $99. Call for more information on the promotional rates and what’s offered.”
Ashby said in addition to recording vocals, he can add background music.
“If someone would like to add music — for example like the background music used for karaoke — I can add background tracks to their vocals, to make a completed CD,” he said.
Ashby said when people think of a recording studio, they often think of the stereotypical record label. Ashes2Ashes, however, isn’t your typical studio.
“The possibilities for application are endless. Whether you want to gather with friends for some birthday karaoke, creating a CD to remember the occasion; creating a family recording to celebrate an anniversary, want to make a family album of Christmas carols to share with grandma in Florida, or have a budding music career and need a demo for some purpose, Ashes2Ashes Recording Studio offers live performance recording at its finest,” said Ashby.
Ashby said with so many pageants and talent shows in Aroostook County, making a recording can help an individual perfect their talent.
“Having a recording like this can help them when it comes time to practice. This allows them to hear themselves and what they sound like to others,” he said.
He said whether you’re recording everything, including music, at his office, or would like to incorporate material previously recorded, he’ll work to meet your needs.
“They can come here to record new material or mix and edit previous recordings,” said Ashby.
    Ashby is available by appointment.
“I’m available as needed, nights and weekends,” he said.
All are welcome, regardless of musical ability or experience.
“I work with everyone, from professional bands to those who play or sing for fun. My main focus, however, is to hit the average, everyday musician,” said Ashby. “There are endless possibilities; it’s just a matter of getting the word out.”
