Caribou – Arlene M. Learnard, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family April 16, 2014, at Caribou, to spend eternity with her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Lille, April 4, 1935, the daughter of the late Noel and Blanche (Corbin) Parent. A dedicated wife and mother, who always put others first, she had an overwhelmingly generous spirit towards everyone. Arlene loved reading, cooking and giving to others, but her biggest joy was her family. She was a longtime member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of over 47 years, Richard “Dick” Learnard, one son and daughter-in-law, Richard “Dickie” and Twyla Learnard; one daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Michael Beaulier; and her precious grandson, Bryant Beaulier, all of Caribou; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Dolores Parent of Waterville, Richard and Priscilla Parent of Saco and Roger and Rolande Parent of South Bend, Indiana; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Noella and Bert Sirois and Normande and Philippe Rossignol all of Van Buren, Dorothy Parent of Hartford, CT, Sister Emelda Parent, D.W. of South Beach, New York, and Lorraine and James Verboys of Shenorock, New York; a special goddaughter, Elena Desjardin; godson, Scott Bouchard; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Learnard was predeceased by her parents, and a sister, Priscilla Davis.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, from the Parish of the precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Fr. Emile Dube, officiating.
