Pet Talk

We want to talk to you about two very special cats. Their names are Nancy and Willow. Both have been with us for quite some time and both are looking for just the right home to call their own.

Let’s start with Nancy. Nancy is a 9-year-old spayed and de-clawed grey tiger cat. She came to us back in late January after her owner got sick and there was no one to care for her in the family. She is a super sweet girl, who loves to just lay around and be brushed. She spends her days, while at the shelter, laying in the sunbeam on the floor, with her legs crossed, greeting everyone that walks in the cat room. She is good with other cats, but prefers to be with older cats, who have the same energy level as her. She has not really been around dogs, so we are thinking at her age, she shouldn’t be introduced now, as not to stress her out. She is a beautiful girl, with gray tiger stripes and markings of white. We know the right home is out there for Nancy, we just need to be patient. Her adoption fee is waived to an approved adopter. She is purrfect in every way, we think!

Second, let’s talk about Willow. This poor girl has been with us since July of last year. She came to us pregnant, which we know by her body, has been many times. The old girl was so thin and tired and having to nurse yet another litter again. She had five babies on July 31. All of these kittens have since been adopted and sadly, she is still with us. She watches people come in every day and take home the young ones, the spunky ones, but sadly, not the older ones. You see, she is 10 years old. She has spent so much of her life, nursing babies and living outdoors, that now she is very quiet and reserved. We think she is finally just comfortable and knows she is safe and will not have any more kittens. She is spayed and has all her shots. She is good with other animals and loves people. She spends her days curled up in the rocking chair in the sun, enjoying the attention from all the visitors that come in. She is a beautiful girl, with black and orange markings. Just like in Nancy’s case, we would waive the adoption fee to an approved adopter. Willow knows her family is out there. She knows her time is coming.
We would love to see these two find a home of their home. A home that would love them and let them live their lives in warmth, peace and happiness. If you may be interested in one of these girls, please call us at 532-2862.
We would like to say one other thing. As you all know, we had our donation money stolen from us, during a time when we have to lay people off and close down on Mondays. Our bills are piling up and we need every dollar we get. That theft hurt us badly. But since that happened, the amount of support that we have gotten from the community and from people as far away as California is amazing. We are truly honored to know that you all support us and what we do. We could not save the lives of so many without the help of each and every one of you. So from all of us at HHS, thank you!
