HOULTON — Massage therapist Serenna Fitzpatrick has moved her practice to Bell Chiropractic on the B Road in Houlton. She started April 1 at her new location.
“Initially when I got out of school, I wanted to be in this kind of atmosphere,” said Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick has been a licensed massage therapist for over 10 years. She spent the last seven and a half years at Lisa’s Hair Designs and before that, Fitzpatrick had her practice at High Definition.
“I am ready to be in a more therapeutic environment and be surrounded by more healing and wellness,” she said. “I have gotten so much support from my husband and family, as well as the girls at the salon.”
Fitzpatrick is a certified level one craniosacral therapist — which is a gentle hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the central nervous system as a preventitive health measure effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction — through the Upledger International Institute.
She also holds a certificate for the raindrop technique through Dr. Gary Young and Young Living Essential Oils.
The Raindrop Technique was developed by Young and a Lakota medicine man. It uses a sequence of nine highly enhancing essential oils. They are applied to the vita flex points of each foot and are dropped like rain from about six inches onto the spine and then lightly massaged in various strokes. This stimulates energy impulses and disperses the oils along the nervous system. With this technique, the body can be brought into balance and energy centers can be cleansed and realigned.
In addition to these two techniques, Fitzpatrick offers 15-, 30-, 60- and 90-minute massages, as well as therapeutic and relaxation massage, hot stone massages and prenatal massages.
Fitzpatrick is open Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling 538-7890 for an appointment.
There are plenty of health benefits from massage including increased circulation and flexibility or stress relief.
“People who will benefit most from Serenna are those who have a soft tissue symptom or complaint such as sore, achy or fatigued muscles to tension-type headaches or migraines,” said Dr. Bell. “Those types of problems will benefit very well from therapeutic massage. Therapeutic in that we try to treat or alleviate some condition or symptom associated with soft tissue.”
Having Fitzpatrick on board fits nicely with the vision Dr. Bell has for his Houlton practice.

BU-CLR-fitzpatrick-dc-pt-15WELCOME — Massage therapist Serenna Fitzpatrick has moved her practice to Bell Chiropractic on the B Road. She opened her practice on the second floor on April 1. Welcoming Fitzpatrick, right, are Dr. Chris Bell and his wife, Martha.

“I want to offer a wider variety of complimentary and alternative services,” he said. “Certainly more soft tissue work is one part of a bigger vision that we have here to try and expand upon our services we offer. This really is one of our first steps in doing that.”
“I am really excited to be starting with the Bells,” said Fitzpatrick. “They are in the growing stages of their wellness center and I am hoping to grow professionally, as well.”
Fitzpatrick graduated from the Northeastern Institute of Whole Health in Manchester, N.H.  She does not diagnose any patient’s condition, but is willing to work alongside health care providers to improve the quality of life for patients.
Fitzpatrick is eager to meet new clients, as well as continue her care of those who have been faithful patrons over the last 10 and a half years.
“I have clients who come weekly, biweekly or monthly,” she said. “I have amazing clients and I am fortunate to have them to do what I love to do. I am excited to meet new clients and help more people, too.”
