If you have a child in high school, you may have noticed the No Parking/No Standing signs that are erected on Bird and Willard streets. Due to the high amount of vehicle traffic that occurs at the high school during the
mornings and afternoon, automobiles parked or stopped in this area make it nearly impossible for emergency vehicles or the neighborhood residents to safely utilize these streets. Until this week, the police department has been issuing warnings to violators. It is the consensus of the officers patrolling this area that warnings are not an effective deterrent. Therefore, parking tickets are now being issued. The department is again asking for the public’s cooperation on this matter. Please obey all traffic control devices and signage.
