PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Probus Club of Aroostook met Jan. 16 with 14 members present. Jane Towle, a real estate broker and owner of ReMax and the event director of the upcoming Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships at the Nordic Heritage Center, was the guest speaker. A graduate of the University of Maine and employed for 25 years at Delta Airlines, Towle gave an overview of what has been completed in preparation for the biathlon and what preparations still have to be made.
The secretary’s report for the months of November and December was accepted as read and the treasurer’s report was also given. Helen McConnell gave her life history.
Lucille Hay and Carolyn Watson will co-chair the new members committee.
The next meeting is set for Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at Northern Maine Community College’s Reed Commons.
