Grant, Miles (Mike) H., 53, February 3, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held at the United Baptist Church, Island Falls, on February 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow.
NASHVILLE, TN and ISLAND FALLS – Miles H. Grant, 53, passed away peacefully at his home in Nashville with his special friend, Michael Ritzko by his side, on February 3, 2014, after a brief illness. He was born in Houlton on March 12, 1960, the son of Miles and Rena (Bull) Grant.
He attended Island Falls schools, graduating from Southern Aroostook High School in 1978. Miles spent most of his life driving over the road as a Motor Coach Operator for Vermont Transit and Greyhound. He loved tending his beautiful flower gardens, walking and hiking, and enjoying God’s awesome creation.
He is survived by sister Jane Rand and her husband, Stuart, of Sherman; his sister, Karen Rodgerson and her husband, Kevin, of Stacyville, their son Patrick and his children, Myles and Amelia of Bangor and their daughter, Rena of Bangor; his brother, Elery Grant and his wife, Grace, of Island Falls, and their two sons, Timothy and Matthew, also his daughter, Victoria Lord and granddaughter Mikayla of Milford; his stepmother, Mary Shields of Island Falls; his stepsister, Sylva Jo Horn and her husband Audie Horn of Island Falls; an uncle, Hebert (Joey) Young of Island Falls; his aunts, Freda Poulin and family of Riverside, CA, Marlene Grant and family of Island Falls, Alice Freve of Contonment, FL, and many cousins. He is also survived by his best friend and caregiver, Michael Ritzko and his two beloved Jack Russell Terriers, Jack and Bella. He leaves behind many friends he made throughout his driving career.
He was predeceased by his parents and stepbrother, Jonathan Anderson.
A celebration of Miles’ life will be held at the United Baptist Church, Island Falls, on February 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow the service.

The family would like to thank Michael for the loving and excellent care he gave Miles which also allowed him to stay at home.
