Bear hunting is focus of Friday meeting

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Maine Wildlife Conservation Council will be hosting a meeting at the Northeastland Hotel on Friday, Feb. 7, with officials providing information on why it’s important to save bear hunting in Maine.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Participants will hear an update on the process to save the bear hunt from at least two speakers: David Trahan, executive director of the Sportsman Alliance of Maine, and James Cote, director of Defeat the Bear Referendum Campaign.
The event is free and all are welcome.
