Father-Daughter Sweetheart Dance
An annual favorite, this year’s event will be held on Friday, Feb. 14 from 7-9 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. Admission is $5 per couple. Photos by Duane are available at a fee $6 for two 4×5 prints for $6 and $10 for four 4x5s. Refreshments and music will be provided. The public is welcome to attend.
Family Fun Night
The family fun night will now be held on Sunday, March 2 from 2-4 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. Join us for a moving, fun night with inflatables, games, music and more. Admission is $5 per family.
Youth ski rental program
The Northern Skiers Club and the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department have partnered to bring the Youth Ski Rental Program back to Caribou for all Caribou youth. This year seasonal rentals will be available for all Caribou youths and includes skis, boots, poles and a carrier for a fee of $60 plus a $20 refundable deposit upon the return of the equipment in the spring.

Men’s 30-and-over basketball
Men’s 30-and-over basketball meets Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. through April 15. The program is designed for gentlemen 30 years of age and over and meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym.
Kids’ playgroup
The recreation department will provide gym space for parents and toddlers. This is a self-guided program which meets Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Participants can bring toys. Please no black rubber-wheeled toys. Please check posted schedules for activities that may result in the cancellation of this open time.
Aroostook middle school ski sprints set for Feb. 8
This event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 on Sweden Street in Caribou. Registration is from 9-10 a.m., with racing slated from 10 a.m.-noon. Middle school teams battle for bragging rights in Aroostook County. There is no admission for this event.
Aroostook Youth Ski Festival
The festival will take place Saturday, Feb. 8 on Sweden Street in Caribou. Registration is from 9-10 a.m. with the festival running from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. There will also be youth ski sprints from noon to 2 pm. This event features a fun, cool way to move on skis. A terrain park will be set up and there will be a variety of games and contests for girls and boys ages 5-14. There is no fee for this event.
Maine state ski sprints
The unofficial state championship event will be held Feb. 8 on Sweden Street in downtown Caribou. Registration is from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. with the racing starting at 2 p.m. The fee is $10 per person and youths ages 13-18 can compete for free. This will count as the Aroostook Cup #3 points race, with the title of Maine’s ski sprint champion also on the line.

Henry Anderson Ski Dag
Sunday, Feb. 9 is the date of the traditional race, which takes place at Caribou Country Club’s Caribou Ski Trails. The granddaddy of Aroostook ski races features classic skiing at its best and is the Aroostook Cup Race #4. Registration gets under way at 9 a.m. with the racing starting at 10 a.m. The fee is $10 per person or $25 per family. Those ages 18 and under ski for free.
