      TOMPKINS, Virginia L., 91, PRESQUE ISLE, at Bangor, January 23, 2014. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Virginia L. Tompkins, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 23, 2014, at a Bangor health care facility, with her daugher by her side. She was born in Caribou on September 24, 1922.
    Ginny, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loved her home in Presque Isle. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was an avid animal lover. She was an active member of the Mapleton and Bethany Baptist Churches.
    She was predeceased by her mother, Eva (McNeal) Perkins; her loving parents, Leslie and Alice (Buxton) Perkins; her husband, Charles A. Tompkins.
    She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Linda Lay and her husband, Michael of Abiline, TX, and Nancy Tompkins Peers of Surry; a son and his wife, Talmage and Susan Tompkins of Alburtis, PA; two sisters, Claudette MacIntosh and her husband, William of 29 Palms, CA, and Donna Perkins of Presque Isle; five grandchildren: Leslie Harper Ringuette and her husband, Roger of Abilene, TX, Bryan Harper and his wife, Sharlene of Caribou, Trent Tompkins and his wife, Kerri-Lynn of Hope, RI, Breeanna Locke and her husband, Joseph of Bangor, McKayla Hairston of Leland, NC; seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Jessie, Jaime, Rebecca, Gabriel, Emma and Quinn “her sweet babies”; and her caring friend, Pam Ingals of Bangor.
    Her family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of Stillwater Heathcare in Bangor and Beacon Hospice for their loving care.
