The Washburn School District 21st Century After School Program put on their performance of “The Fisherman and His Wife” on Friday, Jan. 17, for the Washburn community. The performance of the play, performed by the students, is an original adaptation of a Grimm’s fairytale produced by Children’s Stage Adventures production.
When Will, the fisherman, catches an enchanted fish it looks like his luck has changed. The fish offers him the chance to have his dreams come true but one wish leads to another and Will soon learns that if you have happiness you have everything you need.
The show featured original music including some pieces in the latest contemporary styles and featured 50 children from the Washburn school system. The very talented students had a week of intensive rehearsals conducted by the Children’s Stage Adventures actor and directors. The performance was well-attended and the children did an amazing job.
