recognizes Mechanical Services

AUGUSTA — Efficiency Maine recently presented a number of awards honoring the year’s top contractors, customers and partners of Efficiency Maine programs. Among the recipients was Auburn resident Denis Bergeron, who received the Philip C Hastings Award for his extraordinary lifelong commitment to energy efficiency.

The award winners were announced at Efficiency Maine’s annual Symposium and Awards Ceremony held late last year in Portland.
A number of “Qualified Partners” received awards for their efforts in saving their clients energy and money. Qualified Partners are vendors, contractors, suppliers and other professionals who supply or install energy-efficient equipment, receive training from Efficiency Maine and are familiar with Efficiency Maine’s business incentive programs.
Among this year’s award recipients was:
• The Qualified Partner of the Year Award for Mechanical Projects was presented to Mechanical Services for completing 35 heating, ventilation, and air conditioning projects throughout the state. Mechanical Services has offices in Augusta, Bangor, Portland, and Presque Isle.
The annual Philip C. Hastings Award recognizing extraordinary commitment to energy efficiency was presented to Denis Bergeron, the Director of Energy Programs for the Maine Public Utilities Commission. Bergeron once directed Efficiency Maine when it operated under the umbrella of the PUC. He has worked for the PUC for nearly 20 years focusing on energy and policy issues related to both the electric and gas utility industries. The Philip C. Hastings Award recognizes an individual or organization whose exemplary efforts have furthered Maine’s goals of achieving maximum energy efficiency. The Hastings Award is named after Efficiency Maine’s founding director, and celebrates his legacy by memorializing his extraordinary commitment to energy efficiency and leadership.
