The Houlton High School cheerleaders competed in the Aroostook League Championship last week and the Penobscot Valley Conference competition.

The Houlton squad finished third in the PVC competition behind Central and Sumner.
“The judges were pleased with the variety and creativity of our routine,” said co-coach Renae Foley.
Though the Houlton cheerleaders did not place in Caribou, they are now working toward the Eastern Maine Class C regionals on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
“This week, we will be cleaning up each section of our routine,” said co-coach Michelle Sullivan.     The Houlton cheerleaders received reduction in points for timing as well as not keeping up the “spirit” throughout the full performance.
Both coaches agree, “Those should be easy to improve.”
