The Benevolent Protective Order of Elks hosted its Maine Northern District Hoop Shoot Jan. 12 at the J.F. Doughty School in Bangor, and youths from Caribou turned in strong showings.
In the 10-11 year-old girls’ category, Madison Stratton was the winner.
Austin Findlen took third place among 12-13 year-old boys.
With her victory, Stratton earned the right to advance to the state championships, to be held at Brunswick High School Sunday, Jan. 26.
