HODGDON – Elizabeth V. Hemingway, 84, passed away Jan. 8, 2014, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 13, 1929, at Woodstock, NB, Canada, the daughter of John and Hazel (Bell) McKinley.
    Elizabeth was employed with Gardiner Nursing Home for ten years and before that spent her time being a wonderful wife and mother. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, and reading but her greatest love was her family, the more the merrier.
    Elizabeth is survived by her children, Mildred Benner and her husband, James, of Waldoboro, Ruth Stairs and her, husband, Glen, Jean Kervin and her husband, Bill, Carol Larson and her husband, Rodney, all of Hodgdon, Nancy Nason and her husband, Spurgeon, of Caribou, Rodney Hemingway and his wife, Wendy, of Hodgdon, Mark Hemingway and his wife, Monica, of Columbia Falls, MT, Paul Hemingway and his wife, Brenda, of Ludlow, James Hemingway and his wife, Cathie, of Hodgdon; 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Albert McKinley and his wife, Joan, Isabelle McKinley, all of Woodstock, NB, Canada; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Pauline McGillicuddy; and special thanks to Dr. Ted Sussman. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond S. Hemingway; her siblings, George Whitlock, Vere Whitlock, Elder Whitlock and Harry McKinley.
