PI swimming results

The swim teams from Presque Isle High School were on the road for a pair of recent meets.    The boys picked up the victory over Foxcroft Academy Saturday in Dover-Foxcroft.
PI scored 92 points to defeat the Ponies, who posted 44.
Nate Dewitt had a state-qualifying time in the 200 freestyle at 2:13.77 and took first place in the event.
Joshua Jones won the 50 freestyle in 27.72, Dewitt the 100 fly in 1:04.89 and Dustin Drabek the 500 freestyle in 6:13.19 and the 100 backstroke in 1:15.29.
All three relay teams were winners.
The 200 medley relay team of Drabek, Alex Hemphill, Dewitt and Matt Burtt won in 2:02.02, the 200 freestyle relay team of Hemphill, Burtt, Jones and Dewitt also was victorious in 1:48.92 and the 400 freestyle relay team of Jones, Leigh Buck, Brenden Goulet and Drabek claimed the top spot in 4:25.2.
For the girls, Olivia Goulet was first in the 500 freestyle with a 7:52.11 clocking.
The 200 freestyle relay team, made up of Jackie Lambert, Naomi McEachern, Heather Nadeau and Sara Gilson, won in 2:17.89.
Goulet was also part of the second-place 200 medley relay team, which also included Lambert, McEachern and Gilson. Their time was 2:35.47.
Her 400 freestyle relay team, with McEachern, Nadeau and Laura Watson also competing, was the runner-up in 5:53.22.
Goulet was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:32.36.
Alexis Coiley of Fort Fairfield had state meet-qualifying times in the 200 IM (2:42.19) and the 100 butterfly (1:18.11).
On Dec. 30, the Wildcats were at UM-Orono for a meet. The PI boys won, 93-31, and the girls fell, 100-48.
