HOULTON – Makenna Paige Ward, 6, left to be with Jesus December 29, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 27, 2007, in Houlton, the daughter of Kirk and Amy (Suitter) Ward.
Makenna was a member and ray of sunshine at the Houlton Wesleyan Church and the Military Street Baptist Church. She loved playing with her brother and sister and of course her dogs, and doing any kind of performing for family and friends. She enjoyed all sorts of sports, especially riding her favorite horse, Cowboy. She could swim like a fish and would play on the swings all day.
Makenna had a love of nature and knew all beautiful things came from God. Always smiling and loads of love for everyone she loved, being with her grandparents, and playing with her best friend Griffin and other cousins.
Makenna is survived by her parents, her sister, Felicity, and her brother, Blake, all of Houlton; paternal grandparents, Russell and Laura Ward of Presque Isle; maternal grandparents, Bert and Diane Suitter of Houlton; paternal great-grand-mothers, Muriel Durost of Presque Isle and Lois Ward of Fort Fairfield; several very special aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends called at the Houlton Wesleyan Church Wednesday 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at the church on Thursday 11 a.m. with Revs. Wayne Robertson and Randall Burns officiating.
