TOWNSHIP 7, RANGE 5 — A mother and daughter were injured Thursday when their vehicle went off the road on Route 11, rolling over in the process. According to Deputy Chief Darrell Crandall of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, Kimberly Hutchins, 45, of Lewiston was driving north on Route 11, about five miles north of Knowles Corner near T7-R5 in a 2003 Dodge Caravan when she lost control of the vehicle shortly after 1:30 p.m.
The vehicle slid off the road and rolled over once, hitting a tree, before coming to rest on its wheels.
Hutchins was traveling with her three children at the time of the accident. Ashland Ambulance took Hutchins and one of her children to Houlton Regional Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The other two children were uninjured. The names and ages of the children were not provided.
Police believe the vehicle was totaled in the crash.
Deputy Sheriff Kris Malmborg investigated the incident with assistance from Maine State Police troopers Shawn Whalen and Jacob Ferland. The Ashland and Patten ambulance services and the Ashland Fire Department also rendered aid at the scene.
