There was no rest for schoolgirl basketball squads this holiday season. Unlike past years when high school basketball teams enjoyed a break during the Christmas season, there was relatively little downtime for teams as the regular season resumed Dec. 26.    As of Monday morning, the Houlton girls (3-2, 3.1790 tournament index points) were the No. 8 seed in Eastern Class C, according to the Maine Principals Association Heal Points standings. Dexter (5-2, 8.6728) was the top seed in the region.
In Eastern Class D, Southern Aroostook (4-2, 4.1667) was 10th, while East Grand (2-2, 3.7963) was 11th; Greater Houlton Christian Academy (4-2, 3.5802) was 12th; Katahdin (2-3, 2.0988) was 13th; and Hodgdon (0-7, no points) was tied for last.
