The After The Bell Running Club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in December at 5 p.m. at the Rec Center. Clean sneakers are required and gum and a water bottle are recommended. The running club will be competing in their first 5K on Saturday, Dec. 14. All ages are welcome to run with instructor Amanda Cushman.

After The Bell’s Christmas crafting will take place after school on Thursdays. Children can ride the bus to All Stars (on Main Street); parents can pick their children at 4 p.m. Cost is $3 per child. Activities include: crafting with Jamie on Dec. 5; crafting with Lisa Burtt on Dec. 12; and making gingerbread houses on Dec. 19. Gingerbreads will then be displayed at the gingerbread festival at Wintergreen.
Community Christmas Party — The Happy Happy Happy Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Central Aroostook High School. Doors open at 3 p.m. and the movie starts at 3:15 p.m. This event is free to all children and families, but children must pre-register to guarantee sizes on pajamas!
Special Photo Session — Prior to the Happy Happy Happy Christmas Party we will be hosting a Sensitive Santa photo session. Santa will be at the Central Aroostook High School in Mars Hill at 2 p.m. for a special photo session. Children on the autism spectrum are welcome to come see Santa before the big event. This event will be quieter — not as bright and loud. Children will be given numbers when they arrive to avoid waiting in line. This will be a special time for children that are often overwhelmed by these types of situations. We hope all children are able to enjoy a few minutes with Santa. Any questions, please let us know.

  Raffle winner

The Central Aroostook Historical Society held a raffle for a Teddy Roosevelt Commemorative Model 94, 30-30 Winchester rifle. David Peers donated the gun for the benefit of the Society. We would like to thank Dave for his very generous donation. The winner was drawn on Nov. 26. The winner was Phillip Amnott of Mars Hill.

The Mars Hill Rotary Club gathered on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center. Club members discussed upcoming plans.

The East Ridge Union Church will present an Old Fashioned Musical on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m., featuring singers from youth to adult. All are welcome to enjoy the music and refreshments to follow.
