Coco is a 1-year-old calico female all ready for adoption at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue.  Call Mary at 999-1075 for adoption information or for raffle tickets to benefit  HHPR.

CARIBOU — Halfway Home Pet Rescue volunteers are currently selling tickets for a drawing for a Trollbead cat-themed bracelet, donated by Monica’s Scandinavian Imports. The drawing will be done on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. at the Caribou adoption center.

The bracelet is valued at over $650. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $12, and can be purchased at Monica’s on Sweden Street or from any HHPR volunteer. Those interested may call Mary at 999-1075 for tickets or to see the adoptable cats at the adoption center.
Among the cats ready for adoption is Mama Coco, an approximately 1-year-old female calico with all medical completed. According to an HHPR representative, “She came to us as a very young adult with nursing babies on May 14, 2013, about 8 months old. Coco was an excellent mama and, in addition, agreed to nurse several of the very young orphaned kittens. She came to HHPR greatly underweight and we finally shortened her time of nursing orphans in hopes of getting her to take care of herself.”
Coco is described as extremely clean, healthy and happy, and a very mellow cat who gets along with everyone. She is currently in the kitten room because she still likes to be supportive of the kittens and continues to groom them. “Coco will be a great cat for any family. She enjoys giving and getting love. Children will not be a problem to her and we think she will be fine with dogs after the initial introduction,” said the HHPR staffer.
