Men’s 30-and-over basketball
Men’s 30-and-over basketball meets Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.-noon through April 20, 2014. The program is designed for gentlemen 30 years of age and over and meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym. There is a $3 fee per person during the Sunday session.
Kids’ playgroup held Wednesdays
The recreation department will provide gym space for parents and toddlers. This is a self-guided program which meets Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Participants can bring toys. Please no black rubber-wheeled toys. Please check posted schedules for activities that may result in the cancellation of this open time.
Fall and winter programs
There are still openings for the following programs: grades 1 and 2 basketball session II, grades 3-4 boys and girls basketball, grade 4-6 girls basketball, grades 5-6 boys basketball and grades 4-6 cheerleading.
The fee for these programs is $10 per child for residents and $25 per child for non-residents. Pre-registration is required. For additional information or a complete listing of the winter and spring programs, call the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department at 493-4224.
Basketball programs planned in January
The boys’ grade 5-6 basketball program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays and some Fridays from 3-5 p.m. beginning Jan. 3, 2014. The girls’ basketball program for grades 4-6 meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and some Fridays from 3-5 p.m. and begins the same date. The fee for this program is $10 per child. Pre-registration is required.
Snowmobile education and ATV safety
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department will offer a snowmobile education and ATV safety course Dec. 14 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. This course is being offered in conjunction with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Participants must be 10 years of age and older. Participants ages 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult. The fee is $5 per person payable upon registration. Pre-registration is required.
